What’s On! 14th to 20th August 2017

Monday 14 August: Eve of the feast of the Assumption of our Lady. At 6.30pm, vigil mass.

Tuesday 15 August: Feast of the solemnity of the Assumption of our Lady. Mass times will be as on Sundays - 7.00am, 9.00am, 11.00 & 6.30pm.

Wednesday 16 August: Day dedicated to Vocations, Youth and Children. The 6.30pm mass will be animated by the cathecists, Museum members, and the Mother & Child Group. All male & female children are invited to take part. It will be appreciated if they bring preserved food to be offered to the needy families in our parish. After mass, there will be the offering of children who were born since last year's feast. The Parish Family Commission has already sent invites but if there is anybody else who did not receive the invite, is kindly asked to collect one from the sacristy.

Thursday 17 August: Adoration of the Holy Eucharist after the 8.30am mass.
Day dedicated to the societies & group.
The 6.30pm mass will be animated by the Focolare Movement, the Sacred Heart Nuns and the Widows/Widowers Group.

Friday 18 August: Day dedicated to the Family. The 6.30pm mass will be animated by the Parish Family Commission who has already sent invites to the couples who are celebrating any special wedding anniversary. Those who did receive the invite are kindly asked to pick up one from the sacristy.

Saturday 19 August: The Lejla Sajfija will be held after the 6.30pm mass. Everyone is invited.

Sunday 20 August: Eve of the liturgical feast of St. Pius X.
Evening prayers will be recited during the 6.30pm mass.

Monday 21 August: Liturgical Feast of our patron saint St.Pius X.
A day dedicated to the Adoration of the Holy Eucharist which starts right after the 8.30am mass and continues till 6.00pm when a Eucharistic Celebration will be held. Those wishing to spend some time of adoration are to list their name & time in the sacristy. The Adoration chapel will be closed on this day.

Pope Francis 1

Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglia has taken the name of Pope Francisco. According to The Catholic News, Bergoglia was born on December 17, 1936 in Buenes Aires, Argentina. He studied at the Theological Faculty of San Miguel, where he received his licentiate in philosophy. He was ordained for the Jesuits on December 13, 1960, speaks Spanish, Italian and German.
